Butyl Rubber

Butyl Rubber (IIR, Isobutylene Isoprene Rubber) is a synthetic rubber. It is a copolymer of isobutylene and a small amount of isoprene. Bominated butyl rubber and chlorobutyl rubber products are its derivatives after modification. IIR has excellent resistance to chemicals and polar fluids as well as outstanding electrical insulation and good ozone resistance. Special features are low permeability against gas and moisture and high vibration resistance.
