Charitable Trust Fund
The purpose of the charitable trust is to promote the welfare for socially or economically disadvantaged groups such as the children and youths, the elderly, and the disabled in Changhua County, and improve women’s rights.
• Donations to Hondao Senior Citizen’s Welfare Foundation, and participation in the foundation’s care plans for senior citizens in Changhua living alone. CHR has donated NT$400 thousand during these two years, and helped the senior citizens with the New Year shopping. Discovering what these senior citizens need by offering services, CHR has helped 200 senior citizens so far.
• Donation of NT$369 thousand to World Vision’s domestic financial assistance program for students in Changhua; investment into the procurement of equipment for digital learning and scholarships and grants by providing 30 students from disadvantaged families in Changhua with financial assistance to study steadily.
• As the COVID-19 pandemic spread, we made donations to organizations affected by it. We donated NT$200,000 to the Changhua County Government for emergency relief, and provided medical supplies worth NT$100,000 to nearby hospitals—Chang Bing Show Chwan Memorial Hospital and Lukang Christian Hospital, each receiving about NT$50,000 worth of supplies.
CHR Ci-Ai Club
Beach Cleanup
Since 2019, the CHR Ci-Ai Club has continued to hold street sweeping events around Lukang Osmanthus Alley Artist Village in Changhua. This has become one of the events that we will definitely hold. With the support of the club members and their family and friends, nearly 203 people have participated in the events in total. The street sweeping areas included the Osmanthus Alley Artist Village, Xiaolu Park, the local library, Lukang Assembly Hall, and the streets nearby. Osmanthus Alley Artist Village is a place with an artistic atmosphere. The art village itself is a remodeled Japanese house, and as a tourism spot, the place is always crowed during holidays. The Xiaulu Park nearby is a place where local residents relax over the weekends or holidays. Through the street sweeping action taken by the adults and kids, we hope to keep the local environment clean and tidy so that the pure artistic atmosphere can remain. It is also our hope to inspire more and more people to maintain the environment of the community.
Beach Cleanup
Since 2018, the CHR Ci-Ai Club has continually held beach cleanup events. Five beach cleanups have taken place so far, with 272 participants in total and 3,286 kilograms of garbage collected. According to the inquiry data of Coastal Clean-Up, a total of 14.1 tons of garbage were collected in Changhua County in the recent two years, and the number does not include the garbage that were not collected, which reflects how considerable the amount of garbage is. This is why the Ci-Ai Club holds a beach cleanup event every year. As an enterprise located nearby the coastline, and as the residents living by the coastline, we should definitely take on the responsibility for keeping the coast clean! In addition, the beach cleanups were combined with competitions. The top three teams with the largest garbage collection received gift vouchers as a recognition of their efforts. Ci Ai Club members also invited their family members and friends to the beach cleanups, letting more people participate in such meaningful and educational events and bringing everyone closer together.
Blood Donation
When blood shortage occurred throughout Taiwan under the impact of COVID-19 in the recent two years, we choose a date when the pandemic was mitigated - November 27, 2022 - and held a blood donor event at the Lukang Stadium. In addition to our employees, there were many citizens donating blood in the event. We show our appreciation to the citizens and employees who made a contribution to the society. Donating blood is a charitable act full of sympathy. It helps the patient who needs a blood transfusion to not die of blood loss. CHR will continue to participate in charity events in the future to make more contributions to the society.
